In august 2006 some Enercon windmills were placed nearby Lelystad..
On a rainy day I still had summer holiday so I decided to go and pay a visit. The LG 1550 from Buller was present and this was the third time I came across this crane.
The crane was not fitted with luffing jib again but with the windmill "nose" ontop of the mainboom. When you look good at the picture you can see another crane in the distance...
It was this nice looking LR 1350/1 from Franz Bracht. As can been seen in the picture the crane is fitted with the large crawler-pads which reduces the groundpresure.
Another noticeable thing is that the counterweight is build up with 5 ton blocks only while it can be fitted with 10 ton blocks aswell. In total this cranes has 125 ton of counterweight on the crane house and 38 ton at the carbody. The carbody counterweight is made up with 4 blocks of 7.5 ton each (placed between the crawlers) and 2x 4 ton plates which are placed over the blocks.
The crane was rigged in the so-called SW configuration, the large diameter mainboom and luffing jib. Because of the weather they weren't going to do any lifts that day so unfortunately no action pictures.
