When I got my first camara for a couple of days the LG 1550 from Buller stood close to my house to build windmills. I've went here a couple of times to take pictures and because of this I went to take pictures from other cranes more often.
Near Spijkenisse the crane had to build 6 windmills.
Some people told me that the LG 1550 in Amsterdam was to build a windmill. I had some spare time so I went to take a look.
Unfortunately the crane stood with the front in the bushes so I couldn't make a nice overview picture.
De thight location made it even difficult to rig the mainboom and jip since the jip couldn't be lowered. If this was done the top of the jip would lay on a busy highway.
Verschoor came to help to mount the last piece of the jip. The crane from Verschoor is a Manitex crane-truck.
After mounting the jip the crane left.
The standard crane which goes with the LG 1550 is this GMK 5100.
The hookblock still had to be reaved at 5 weares. The little car under the jiphead is used to make it easier to raise the boom.
After reaving the hookblock the boom was erected and they called it a day.
The windmill build here, "De Amstelvogel", is owned by Windvogel. Pictures of the foundation to end can be found here.
